*KITCHEN MANAGER * DAYTIME HOURS
Do you love proper cooking but wish to have a better work life balance and free evenings?
We are looking someone lovely with passion for cooking honest homemade delicious food to join our team at our busy independent café in Forest Recreation Ground Park.
Approx. 32-34 hrs per week, 4 or 5 shifts a week, including Saturdays & Sundays on rotation
(CLOSED ON MONDAYS)
(Shift Times may suit someone returning to work around school hours or studying, our kitchen usually operates between 9 and 3 on weekdays and weekends 8.30 – 3.30)
We are open Tuesday to Sunday, so must be flexible on days to work, weekends are our busiest time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Managing & Leading the small kitchen team during shifts to ensure consistency in the meals leaving the kitchen
*You will be preparing our delicious popular brunch menu from fresh ingredients.
*Menu development & costing
*Stock Ordering and Minimising waste, working with our suppliers.
*Following our strict hygiene procedures keeping a clean and safe kitchen.
*You will work closely with both the Café Manager and Café Owner along with the front of house team.

THIS IS A LONGER-TERM PERMANENT POSITION, NOT SUITABLE FOR STUDENTS
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
* A happy calm positive outlook, someone that thrives in a busy kitchen.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate your kitchen team
* At least 2 years Commercial Kitchen Experience required & a genuine love of food, in particular brunch, is very important.
* An ability to be creative & inspiring with food ingredients with an eye for food styling.
* We are looking for someone who is comfortable working on larger scale catering as we have frequent large group bookings, busy pop-up events and additional outside catering jobs
* Must enjoy being organised, manage stock rotation, ordering and food safety
* Great customer service skills, we have an open kitchen, all team members engage with customers.
Your main place of work would be in our flagship cafe at the Forest Rec or our pop-up events.
Full Training will be given about all things Homemade.

Front of House Apprenticeship
18 Months to 2 year commitment
Have you finished your studies and want to get started in a career in Hospitality?
We have a new opportunity for a Front of House Apprentice in partnership with Nottingham College. We are looking for someone friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and keen to learn the tricks of our trade. During this apprenticeship you will learn how to deliver good customer service, how to manage a table section, learn to serve and make a range of drinks. You will receive full barista training and experience working through busy events.
We have ran apprenticeships at Homemade for over a decade and many people have worked their way up in the business or gone on to do other amazing things after.

Bakery Production Apprenticeship
18 Months to 2 year commitment
Have you finished your studies and want to get started in a career in Hospitality?
We have a new opportunity for a Bakery Apprentice in partnership with Derby College to learn on the job with our bakery team.
We are looking for someone friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and a strong passion for baked goods to join our baking adventures.
During this apprenticeship you will learn how to make a variety of cakes/doughs, develop skills in volume cake production, skills in icing, learn about the importantce of packaging/allergens, Food Presentation skills, customer service and barista training in our coffee kiosk too.
this apprenticeship suits a good all rounder, someone who isn’t afraid of getting stuck in. To do this job, you must have an interest in bakery work as a career, as working in a bakery at our level is very different to baking cakes at home.
